Sunny frangipani in creamy white, lemon and tangerine bloom across three little compartments, with leaves in emerald, navy and black. Behind them, fine black pinstripes run across a soft olive background, and the whole tray is framed in a fresh mint rim.
Every petal is swirled on in thick, glossy layers, so the flowers sit up off the surface and you can see each brushstroke curling around the bloom. The leaf veins are scratched back through the paint using sgraffito, my signature technique, and fine linework picks out the frangipani centres.
It's delicate, vibrant and useful. The three sections work for so many things, but I like it best on the bedroom dresser for rings, earrings and little treasures. It's just as lovely by the front door for keys, on a bathroom vanity, or on the table holding snacks or sauces.
